Gone Hunting

A Fantasy Short Story Written By C. W. Stevenson

Gone Hunting

by C. W. Stevenson

Their village starving, a desperate hunting party sets off in search for food. Trailing their prey to the foot of Horn Forest, the trio find themselves faced with two choices: turn back in shame with nothing, or, venture into the woods of the hooved folk.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, C. W. “Clint” Stevenson resides there with his wife, son, and their retinue of furry companions. New to the writing scene, he writes primarily science fiction, fantasy, and horror. In 2022 his story “After the Siege” won the prize for second place in The National Fan Federation Short Story Contest. His work can be found in Alien Dimensions, Illustrated Worlds, and the Wicked Shadow Press anthology: Abominable. With several short stories pending release in 2023, Clint is hard at work on a science fiction novella featuring his established intergalactic game warden character, Oden Grey, as well as working on his first novel, a grimdark piece called “The Swordsman” set in the same world as “Gone Hunting” that will no doubt become an international bestseller…or at least he hopes so.
